Quick fit check.

Six questions. Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.

This is a rough, transparent guide based on what tends to matter. It is not a valuation, it doesn’t measure buyer interest, and it doesn’t tell you whether you can legally sell or license anything.

1. How many years of digital records does the business have?

2. Roughly how many people worked there at its peak?

3. Do records link together, for example by job, order or project number?

4. Which best describes what you hold?

5. Were the records created by the business’s own work?

6. Who would be making the decision?

How the score works

Questions 1 to 4 score 0, 1 or 2 points each, for up to 8 points. 6 or more reads as “worth a conversation”, 3 to 5 as “possibly”, and under 3 as “probably not yet”. Two answers are flagged instead of scored: records held mostly for someone else, and decisions by a former director of a dissolved company. Those need the owner’s agreement or the company’s legal position sorted out first. See trust and rights and dissolved companies.

Whatever the result, you’re welcome to ask. A short description is enough.
