Does your business record its phone calls?

Recorded conversations between your staff and your customers can be useful to AI developers building voice and customer-service tools. If you have years of them, tell us what you hold. We’ll look at whether they could be licensed, and what would need checking first.

What tends to fit

  • Everyday customer calls. Sales, service, bookings and scheduling, dispatch and support, handled by your own staff.
  • Calls your business owns. Your own conversations with your own customers. Calls recorded on behalf of a client are normally for that client to decide about, not you.
  • Volume and history. More hours over more years is generally more useful. Transcripts help but aren’t essential.
  • Typical sources. Service and support desks, home and field services, logistics and dispatch teams, sales teams, and contact centres handling their own customers.

None of this is a minimum or a promise. Each archive is looked at on its own merits, and we’ll say plainly if it isn’t a fit.

Rights come first

A “calls may be recorded” message tells callers that recording happens. On its own it doesn’t give permission to use the recordings for AI training or to license them to anyone else. Before anything is shared, these need checking:

  • who owns the recordings, and whether any client or contract restricts them
  • what callers and staff were told, and on which lines
  • personal data, and how it would be handled (see how personal details come out of business records)
  • anything sensitive, such as health or payment details, which is usually left out
  • any terms set by your phone or call-recording provider

How it works

  1. Describe the calls. Use the form below. An outline is enough.
  2. Fit and rights review. We talk it through and ask about ownership, notices and content.
  3. Agree terms. If it’s worth going further, the scope, permitted uses and handling are agreed in writing first.
  4. Sample or assessment. Only then, and only if agreed, a limited sample may be reviewed under those terms.
  5. Possible licence. Where a buyer’s needs match, we bring you the terms and you decide. Nothing is shared without your agreement.

We can’t promise a buyer, a price or a sale. Licensing recorded calls is new, and each case depends on the recordings and the rights behind them.

Tell us about your recorded calls.

Rough answers are fine. Describe the calls; don’t send them.

Please don’t include recordings, transcripts, phone numbers or other personal details here. If a sample is ever needed, it is only arranged after rights, privacy and terms are agreed.
